Covid-19 Action Plan
The safety of our traders, staff and customers is of utmost importance to us. Here are some of the steps we are taking to make sure you can enjoy the market when it re-opens on the 17 April, reassured that we have taken all reasonable measures to minimise the risk of transmission of the coronavirus.
This is new for us, and we will be reviewing our processes every week to begin with to ensure that they are appropriate and working. If you have any questions or feedback, please contact us by email.
- We are reducing market operating hours to ensure site can be set up safely and cleaned before traders and public arrive, and cleaned and packed down at the end of the day. Our new hours are 12 noon to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
- A market manager will be available at all times during trading hours to monitor adherence to measures and deal with any issues as they arise.
- All stalls on site will be positioned with sufficient spacing to ensure that our traders and customers can maintain social distancing at all times.
- Sadly, we are unable to offer a changing room. Traders will be able to provide you with returns information and you should discuss that with them before you buy.
- We will be controlling entry to the market, operating a queuing system to ensure we do not exceed capacity.
- We will have a clearly marked one-way route through the market to minimise crowding, and signage to remind you to maintain social distancing. Please do your bit by making sure you follow them at all times.
- Hand cleaning facilities are provided at entrance. Please make use of them.
- Our toilets manned at all times with controlled entry and regular cleaning. Stocks of soap and paper towels will be maintained at all times.
- Please, no cash payments if at all possible – all our traders are being asked to accept contactless payments.
- We want you to enjoy the market, but please bear in mind social distancing at all times, and minimise lingering at stalls, so other people are able to enjoy the site too. You may also wish to wear a mask while on site.
- Finally, if you have any symptoms of the coronavirus, please stay at home.
